Spicy Passionfruit Margarita

Margaritas are made with tequila, lime juice and triple sec. This is one of the most classic cocktail drinks, but it’s not just a summer drink anymore! Here are some ways to spruce up your next margarita by adding more flavor.

The “spicy passion fruit cocktail” is a refreshing drink that can be made with any fruit juice. It’s a great drink for the summertime.

I’m now enjoying a hot passionfruit margarita on a beach in Mexico. Which is particularly appropriate given that this piece is about margaritas, Mexico, and Cinco de Mayo.

Although Cinco de Mayo is a well-known festival in the United States, not everyone is aware of its significance. Without going into too much detail, 4,000 Mexican forces beat twice as many New colonial invaders near Puebla, Mexico on May 5, 1862. Cinco de Mayo is commemorated today because of the importance of this fight in defeating the French occupants, since it strengthened Mexican morale and halted the French march on Mexico City.

Woohoo! History!

Cinco de Mayo is also honored in the United States since it is associated with margaritas. Let’s face it, practically everyone enjoys a margarita.

In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, I’m collaborating on this article with Patrón Tequila to enjoy some of those margaritas. Patrón launches on a hunt for the Margarita of the Year every year around this time.

Patrón chose seven bartenders from across the globe to create their own versions of the Perfect Margarita utilizing a range of ingredients inspired by their own regions this year.

To illustrate the adaptability of one of the world’s most famous and lasting drinks, each cocktail pays homage to the original recipe while also mixing things up with ingredients like cayenne-chile, blackberry shrub, or fiery passionfruit.

Patrón asked me to choose a favorite from a list of seven, and I couldn’t resist the Spicy Passionfruit Margarita, which is created with a handmade spicy passionfruit syrup, orange liqueur, and Patrón Tequila. It was every bit as amazing as I had hoped, and it made me even more excited for my upcoming vacation to Mexico!

Even if you’re not in Mexico, this margarita will make you feel as if you are. It’s hot, sweet, and tropical, and it’s quite refreshing. As a result, it’s the ideal way to commemorate Cinco de Mayo this year.

Here you can find the recipes for all seven finalists, as well as cast your vote for your favorite margarita of the year. And a belated Cinco de Mayo greeting!
