S’mores Cake

This is a recipe for my mom’s S’mores Cake. It has all the fun of camping, minus the bugs and mildew that usually lurk in tents. Nobody ever said cooking was easy or quick!

Homemade s’mores cake is a no-bake cake that has a graham cracker crust, chocolate pudding, and marshmallow topping. Read more in detail here: s’mores cake no-bake.

You all know how much I like marshmallow fluff, and this cake is basically the cake of my dreams. Anything with a s’mores taste appeals to me. Macaroons with s’mores, brownies with s’mores, icebox cake with s’mores… I mean, I could live off of this taste combination. As a result, it’s probably no surprise that we had to bake an S’mores cake.

DUH. I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to incorporate all of the tastes of an ooey gooey s’more into a layer cake.

What’s your favorite s’mores party? What about the golden marshmallow? What about the melted chocolate? What about the graham cracker crunch? I adore them all, to be honest.

What’s the best thing about this cake? In their own layer, each of the three gets to shine.

A s’mores cake is a dessert that combines the flavors of s’mores with chocolate.

S’mores cake combines the three essential elements of a delicious s’more into a rich layer. S’mores are created with toasted marshmallows, chocolate, and two graham crackers wedged together, in case you’ve been living under a rock. It’s without a doubt one of my favorite taste combinations. You’ll start by making three independent components, which you’ll then put together.

And I’m going to explain everything to you.

  1. Chocolate Cake: We made the fudgiest, most chocolaty cake we’ve ever tasted using our favorite chocolate cake recipe.
  2. Graham Cracker Crumble: You know how a graham cracker’s foundation is normally buttery goodness? We made a crumble out of it to sprinkle in between each tier of cake (PSA it is to die for).
  3. Marshmallow Buttercream: This super fluffy buttercream is made with marshmallow fluff blended straight into the frosting and tastes precisely like a marshmallow.

And it’s darn good.

How to put together a s’mores layer cake:

This recipe makes a two-layer 8-inch cake or a three-layer 6-inch cake, which is what we did here!

Simply set the first layer on a cake stand and cover it with marshmallow buttercream. Half of the graham cracker crumble goes on top. Then, on top of it, add another layer and continue the procedure.

Place the final cake layer on top and frost the cake’s top and sides. We used chocolate ganache and toasted marshmallows as toppings, but you could use anything you like!

Serving this s’mores layer cake with a scoop of Ben & Jerry’s S’mores ice cream is the only thing that could possibly make it better.

I believed it had been phased out, but a short Google search reveals that it is still available in shops, despite the fact that my local supermarket has ceased carrying it. So, in a nutshell, it’s been discontinued for me.

So, if you see Ben or Jerry, please inform them that we need them to return their S’mores ice cream to my grocery store so we may enjoy it with this cake.

That is all there is to it.

for the icing

for the cream cheese icing

  • 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter
  • a quarter cup of powdered sugar
  • a half-cup of marshmallow fluff
  • 1 teaspoon extract de vanille
  • salt (1/4 teaspoon)

for the crumbled graham crackers

  • 2 teaspoons melted unsalted butter
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers

  1. Make the chocolate cake according to the package instructions, then bake it in three 6 inch rounds. Before icing the cakes, let them cool fully.
  2. Crumble the icing and graham crackers as the cake cools. In the bowl of a stand mixer equipped with the whisk attachment, place the softened butter. Cream the butter until it is completely creamy. Mix in the powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the marshmallow fluff and beat for 3 minutes, or until fluffy.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and honey to form the graham cracker crumble.
  4. Place a cake layer on a cake stand or dish. Using the marshmallow frosting, ice the top of the cake and sprinkle half of the graham cracker crumble on top. Carry on with the second layer in the same manner. With an offset spatula, frost the top and sides of the third layer.

The “hot chocolate ‘s mores cake” is a dessert that consists of two layers of chocolate cake with marshmallow frosting. The cake and the frosting are both cooked in a pan over an open fire, usually using wood or charcoal.
