Sea Salt Olive Oil Chocolate Chip Cookies

As the name suggests, these cookies are made with sea salt and olive oil to make them healthier. The chocolate chips give a sweet bite that goes well with the salty-peppery taste of the cookie dough. These have been one of my favorite recipes since I first tried it when making them as a kid!

These vegan olive oil chocolate chip cookies are easy to make and the perfect dessert. Each cookie is made with a simple dough, an easy recipe that requires just 6 ingredients.

Chocolate chip cookies come to mind when I think about baking. To me, they’re the same thing.

But this isn’t just any chocolate chip cookie. A soft, chewy brown sugar chocolate chip cookie with layers of chopped chocolate is what I’m talking about. As a result, your cookie is essentially a chocolate bar. You know what I mean? These chocolate chip olive oil cookies have the perfect chocolate-to-dough ratio, so you don’t have to look for all of the chocolate chips on your cookie before biting to make sure you get the most chocolaty section.


How to make these chocolate chip cookies with olive oil

This is, without a doubt, the simplest cookie recipe I’ve ever tried. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, olive oil, egg, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. After that, add the flour and baking soda, and then fold in the chocolate pieces after everything else has been incorporated.

Using a two-ounce scoop, scoop out the cookie dough and lay it on a baking pan coated with parchment paper. These olive oil cookies only need to bake for around 12 minutes, or until they’ve become a wonderful golden brown. Allow a few minutes for the cookies to rest on the baking surface before dusting with sea salt.

Are you still persuaded that these are the simplest cookies on the planet? There’s no way I can think of to make the baking procedure any easier!

In an airtight jar on your counter, these olive oil chocolate chip cookies will keep for a few days, but they’re best eaten within the first two days. If your cookies get stale, bake them for a few minutes at a low temperature to “refresh” the taste (it’s strange, but it works!).

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter (I use Challenge butter!) melted
  • 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil of superior grade
  • 1 big room-temperature egg
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (light)
  • a quarter cup of granulated sugar
  • a half teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon extract de vanille
  • a half-teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 1/3 cup flour (all-purpose)
  • dark chocolate, 4 oz., coarsely chopped


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Using parchment paper, line a large cookie pan.
  2. Combine melted butter, olive oil, egg, both sugars, salt, and vanilla extract in a medium mixing dish. Combine flour and baking soda in a separate basin. Fold in the flour mixture until barely mixed with the wet ingredients. Chop the chocolate and fold it in.
  3. Use a 2 ounce cookie scoop to scoop the dough, leaving approximately 1 inch between each cookie. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Once removed from the oven, they will continue to bake!! Allow it cool slightly before adding flakes sea salt to the top.
