But, you know, dudes. When I say I baked these maple chocolate chip cookies three times in one week, I’m not kidding. And I’m not even irritated by it. In fact, I’m pleased with myself. Because this chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe is so excellent, I’ve stopped baking on a daily basis in favor of cooking these cookies over and again.
Chocolate chip cookies are one of my favorite treats. They’re perfect for me. My mom’s chocolate chip cookie recipe is even named after her. So it’s a huge thing that I liked these cookies so much that I made them three times.
Alex and I stored the cookies in a tupperware container for a week, and they were still ooey-gooey chewy on Day 7. It’s all due to the fact that you underbaked them (aka the only way to make cookies).
I don’t know about you, but I’m really looking forward to December since it’s officially cookie season. It’s a truth that the month of December is when the most cookies are baked (according to me). They’re the most lovely, pleasure-inducing bits of bliss you’ll ever come upon. Make a warm, chewy chocolate chip cookie with genuine maple syrup. No, really, why not? It is what I want.

These chewy chocolate chip cookies are SO EASY to prepare, as I say about all of my cookie recipes. (How else would you explain how I made these three times in a week?) To create these maple chocolate chip cookies, combine the salted butter, two kinds of sugar, and pure maple syrup in a mixing bowl. The mixture may take a few minutes to fluff up, so don’t miss this step!
Add the wet ingredients and stir until mixed after the butter, sugars, and maple syrup have become light and fluffy. Then, gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just mixed (you never want to overmix cookie dough!). Fold in the chocolate bits with a spatula before scooping the cookie mixture onto the prepared cookie sheets.
These maple chocolate chip cookies just take 10 minutes to make. They’ll seem pale and undercooked, but I guarantee you, 10 minutes is the sweet spot! The cookies become extra chewy and wonderful by slightly underbaking them.
Prepare to taste nirvana if you dunk these cookies in a tall glass of milk.
People, it’s nearly cookie month. Let’s toast to the occasion with a batch of them.
- 6 tablespoons salted butter (at room temperature)
- a quarter cup of granulated sugar
- a quarter cup of light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup, undiluted
- 1 big room-temperature egg
- 2 tsp maple flavoring or maple extract
- 1 teaspoon extract de vanille
- a half teaspoon of salt
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour + 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped into big pieces
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Set aside two cookie sheets that have been greased.
- Cream the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and maple syrup for 2 minutes in a standing mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, maple extract, vanilla extract, and salt for another minute. Pour in the flour and reduce the mixer’s speed to the lowest setting, only mixing in the flour until it is well incorporated.
- Remove the bowl from the mixer and stir in the chocolate bits. Scoop cookies onto prepared cookie sheets with a 2-ounce cookie scoop.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake cookies for 10 minutes. Listen, I know they’ll seem underdone, but I’ve made this dish a gazillion times and the magic number is 10 minutes. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them to cool for 10 minutes on the baking sheet, undisturbed. During this time, they will continue to fry and crisp up around the edges.
- Remove the cookies off the cookie sheet and serve once they have set for 10 minutes.
