Napa Food Photography Workshop!

An informative and fun day with a photographer to learn the fundamentals of food photography. And don’t worry – this is not an open-toed sandal kind of event!

Napa is a place where you can find the best food in all of California. The Napa Food Photography Workshop! will teach you how to capture the perfect shot for your next blog post, and make it look like a professional photographer took it. Read more in detail here: food photography.

HELLO, GUYS. Despite the fact that my first #foodtographyworkshop concluded less than a week ago, I am ecstatic to announce that I will be organizing another photography workshop in September! What’s more, guess what? It may be found in NAPA.

Join me and my co-host, Bella Karragiannidis of Ful-filed, for a 4-day, 3-night retreat in Northern California’s beautiful Napa Valley. We’ll be living on a beautiful estate and spending our days doing food styling, photography, and developing as creatives together.

The Principles of Photography Our course will begin with a quick introduction of photography. Then we’ll learn about our cameras and their settings, including ISO, shutter speed, and depth of focus.

Composition How do you arrange a well-balanced food photograph? We’ll go through the rule of thirds, balance, and geometry, as well as some food photography tips and tactics.

Storytelling We’ll put up beautifully designed food tales, show you how to choose a filming location, and show you how to choose props that complement the setting.

The Human Element + Movement We’ll look at movement and motion in our food shots, from drippy caramel to a beautiful powdered sugar coating. We’ll look at several methods to include people into food photography, as well as possibilities for you to get those action shots that give a picture so much life and movement.

Props + Styling We photograph props just as much as we shoot food. The feel of a wrinkled linen cloth, the elegance of a handcrafted dish — using the proper props in your narrative can make your photographs different. We’ll go through how we go about choosing props for a production and provide some advice on how we’ve established our prop collections on a budget.

Editing Learning to take pictures is just half of the skill set required to master food photography; editing is where you develop your own style and stamp your mark on your work. We’ll go through Lightroom in detail, exploring strategies that will help your picture stand out.

Client Work + Marketing It takes a lot of effort to turn your passion into a company. Sarah and Bella turned their blogs into lucrative businesses in only two years. We’ll go through branding methods, how to reach out to customers, and how to create effective social media campaigns.

This award-winning architect-designed mansion, nestled in the hills above the Napa Valley, will be the perfect backdrop for our studio. The house is surrounded by a lush environment that includes a pool and spa, a wood-fired pizza oven, and a covered outdoor dining pavilion where we will congregate each night for long table meals.

Napa Valley, CA, Thursday, September 21st – Sunday, September 24th Sarah and Bella are the instructors.
