And with that, I grabbed a chunk and devoured it. And it was really incredible. I was imagining bacon recipes in my thoughts about five minutes later. There were a few maple bacon cupcake recipes out there, but none of them appeared to utilize enough bacon grease. What’s a tablespoon? Please, don’t make me laugh. I’m not sure how you’re meant to taste that.
As a result, I’ve attained culinary brilliance today. I used that scrumptious bacon to make a cupcake, and not only did it turn out good, but it’s the finest recipe I’ve ever created.
The drippings from the bacon are used to further spice up the smoky-sweet taste of these maple bacon cupcakes, which are topped with maple buttercream.
For the cupcakes, follow these instructions:
- 12 slices uncured high-quality bacon, plus 1/2 cup bacon drippings
- 2 1/4 cup flour (all-purpose)
- brown sugar, 2/3 cup
- 1/2 gallon of milk
- maple syrup (1/2 cup)
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons soda bicarbonate
- a quarter teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
To make the icing:
- 1 pound of butter
- 3 CUP CONDITIONER’S SUCTIONER’S SUCTIONER’
- 1 teaspoon extract de vanille
- a quarter cup of maple syrup
- Begin by crisping the bacon in a frying pan to your preference. All cooking drippings should be saved and kept in the fridge to harden.
- Allow the bacon to cool on a dish before cutting 7 of the strips into tiny pieces, roughly the size of small peas, using culinary scissors (I cut the strips in half, then snipped them up from there). Make quarters out of the remaining 5 strips (these will go on the top of the cupcakes). Remove everything from the equation.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cream together the butter, solidified bacon drippings, sugar, and maple syrup in a large mixing dish. After that, add the egg and the milk.
- Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- In thirds, add the dry ingredients to the wet. Finally, fold in the saved bacon pieces using a spatula.
- Fill cupcake tins halfway with batter. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 30 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Make the icing while the cupcakes are baking. Combine the butter, vanilla, and maple syrup in a mixing bowl. Add the confectioner’s sugar last. 2 minutes on medium speed, beat until the frosting appears light and fluffy.
- Spoon the frosting into a zip-top bag after the cupcakes have cooled. Cut a 1-centimeter incision in the bag’s corner. Pipe the frosting in a spiral out to the edges of the cupcakes, starting in the middle. Place a quarter slice of bacon on top of each cupcake. Enjoy!
