They’re the kind of quick treat that gets devoured in a matter of seconds. You know the kind: the one where everyone at the party wants the recipe.

It makes you question why you’d bother producing anything time-consuming or costly in the first place.

To make Peppermint Oreo Truffles, follow these instructions.

This recipe for Peppermint Oreo Truffles is as simple as they come:

  1. To make the Oreo truffles, follow these steps: Simply puree the Oreos in a food processor or blender, then add the cream cheese, peppermint essence, and a touch of salt. The dough has been completed!
  2. Freeze the ingredients after rolling it into truffles: Scoop spherical balls with a teaspoon (or tablespoon). Roll into a circle between your hands and freeze for at least 30 minutes on a cookie sheet or plate. This will aid in the preservation of the truffles’ form in the heated chocolate.
  3. Dip the truffles in chocolate: Once the balls have been cold, completely coat them with melted chocolate. THEN DROP IN CRUMBLED CANDY CANES AND THAT’S IT.

Now take those nasty bastards and pop them like candy.

Oreo Peppermint Truffles Storage:

This holiday season, these Christmas Oreo truffles make a great present or hostess gift! We like to put them in cellophane wrappers with festive ribbons or stuff them into a Christmas cookie tin. They’re strong and travel well; they’ll keep for two weeks in the fridge or three months in the freezer, and they won’t grow stale like a cookie or bar would.

The nicest thing about these Oreo peppermint truffles is how adaptable they are. How depressing would it be to only be able to consume peppermint and chocolate-flavored treats throughout the holidays?! Make these all year long and leave off the candy canes if you don’t want them to be too Christmasy!

Enjoy your Christmas baking this weekend!

  • 2 Oreo sleeve(s)*
  • cream cheese, 6 oz.
  • 1 tsp peppermint essential oil
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 pound dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp coconut butter
  • 1/4 cup candy canes, crushed
