What is it about these funfetti cookies that makes them so delicious?

You’ve come to the correct location if you like sugar cookies. Of course, I love a gooey brown butter chocolate chip cookie, but a soft, melt-in-your-mouth buttery sugar cookie may be just as delectable. I have really particular desires for soft and chewy sugar cookies, maybe because I grew up eating so many Pillsbury sugar cookies. These funfetti sugar cookies will wow you. They have a crackly surface and a soft, chewy core. The following are the ingredients for these funfetti cookies:

  • Buttery
  • Soft to the touch

To make funfetti cookies, combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

Let’s get down to business now that we’ve all agreed that these funfetti cookies are a must-have in your life. These funfetti cookies are created with just nine ingredients, most of which you probably already have on hand. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Unsalted Butter: We prefer unsalted butter in baking because it enables us to manage how much salt ends up in the final result. To ensure that your butter creams up into a light and fluffy batter, make sure it is at room temperature.
  • Granulated Sugar: Granulated sugar will provide the proper amount of sweetness to your funfetti cookies. You may reduce the sugar by 1/2 cup if you like your cookies to be more cakey.
  • For these funfetti cookies, you’ll only need one egg. To prevent the batter from splitting, make sure your egg is at room temperature.
  • Vanilla Extract: While I prefer pure vanilla extract in most recipes, this funfetti cookie recipe works just as well with artificial vanilla extract since the nostalgic funfetti taste we all adore is generally produced with it. For this dish, any will suffice!
  • All-Purpose Flour: A soft and chewy funfetti cookie may be made using regular all-purpose flour. If you want your cookies to taste more like the funfetti cake mix cookies, you may add cake flour!
  • Baking Powder + Baking Soda: Using a mix of baking powder and baking soda will give your cookies a nice rise and a crackly top.
  • Salt: To balance out the sweetness and de-emphasize the taste profile, all sweet delicacies need a pinch of salt.
  • Rainbow Sprinkles: Because Funfetti is all about the sprinkles, we loaded these bad guys up with a ton of them. These cookies will be very brilliant and vibrant, as well as delectable, thanks to the added sugar.

Suggestions for making the greatest funfetti cookies

These funfetti cookies are simple to prepare, but following a few guidelines will ensure delightfully soft biscuits every time. For the greatest results, make sure you go through them and follow them to the letter!

  • Underbake them: I can’t emphasize how crucial this is. This will determine whether your cookies succeed or fail. A chewy crust and a soft middle are essential for delicious funfetti cookies. When you take the cookies out of the oven, you want them to be rather raw in the centre. The cookies will keep baking as they cool, and they will remain soft for days!
  • Overmixing the mixture will result in a tough cookie and a sprinkling mess. Only mix the batter until it’s completely smooth and no flour streaks remain. After you’ve added the rainbow sprinkles, don’t continue to beat the dough since this can break down the sprinkles and cause them to flow into your cookies.
  • Utilize high-quality ingredients in easy recipes: It’s critical to use high-quality components in basic recipes. Make sure you’re using nice sprinkles instead of waxy ones and high-quality butter (we adore Vermont Creamery!).

Ingredients

  • room temperature 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar (granulated)
  • 1 big room-temperature egg
  • 1 tblsp vanilla bean extract
  • 2 cups flour (all-purpose)
  • baking powder (1/2 teaspoon)
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • a half teaspoon of salt
  • a quarter cup of rainbow sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove from the equation.
  2. 3 minutes with a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, whip the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula before adding the egg and vanilla essence. Lightly beat until frothy and pale in color.
  4. Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well blended and no flour streaks remain. Do not overmix the ingredients. Sprinkles should be added last, and the mixer should be turned on fast to spread the sprinkles. Avoid overmixing the dough, since this can cause the sprinkles to shatter.
  5. Scoop the dough into 1 inch balls with a 1 ounce cookie scoop, spacing them approximately 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Bake for 11 minutes, or until the borders are barely firm but the inside is still very gooey. Your cookies will stay incredibly soft as a result of this. Allow 10 minutes for the cookies to cool before moving to a cooling rack. Enjoy!
