Are you a pizza fan? Are you a fan of spinach and artichoke dip? If the answers are affirmative, continue reading; if not, show yourself the door. You may look at several other pizza recipes if you don’t believe me. But, folks, holy cow. This Spinach Artichoke Pizza was one of the most DELICIOUS dishes we’ve prepared in weeks. And this is coming from gals who prepare 10-12 delectable dishes every week. So you know we’re serious when we say this cheesy, creamy pizza take on our favorite party dip is poised to become a household favorite.

What about a spinach and artichoke dip? In the shape of pizza?!

While I am a die-hard margherita pizza lover, I adore visiting to pizza establishments (hello, CPK) and seeing all of the creative flavor combinations they’ve come up with: cheeseburger pizza, bbq chicken, eggplant parm, dessert pizza…the list of toppings seems to go on forever. Don’t get me started on the several types of pizza: deep dish, thin crust, flatbread, doughy… To be honest, I adore all of them.

This Spinach Artichoke Pizza is no exception to that rule.

What’s the best way to prepare Spinach Artichoke Pizza?

Let me break it down into four simple stages for you.

  1. Purchase store-bought pizza dough and follow the directions on the package.
  2. Make a spinach artichoke dip (recipe follows!).
  3. Bake your pizza dough with spinach artichoke dip.
  4. It’s best if you eat it all at once.

So, no more excuses, fellas. It’s just too simple and wonderful to pass up.

Pizza Dough Made at Home vs. Store-Bought Pizza Dough

No offense to anybody who prepares their own pizza dough from scratch, but nobody has time for that, right? Especially with so many fantastic kits and pre-made doughs available. I adore DeLallo’s pizza kits, Bob’s Red Mill’s Gluten Free Pizza Kit, and so many more brands that you can create at home without having to wait hours for the dough to rise or knead till your hands ache.

So, why put yourself through extra effort when store-bought goods are still very good?

I like how simple and adaptable pizza can be.

Pizza is very adaptable, particularly when cooked from scratch. That’s why this Spinach Artichoke Pizza Recipe is one of my favorites. Do you want to boost your protein intake? Add shredded chicken to the mix. Use a gluten-free crust to make it gluten-free. Make a dairy-free pizza by replacing the cream cheese, mozzarella, and mayonnaise with vegan substitutes. The options are limitless!

So, what exactly are you waiting for? Get your spinach artichoke pizza on and have a pizza party!

Plus, it’s Monday, which means it’s time for The Bachelorette (don’t judge me). It’s a guilty pleasure) and I’m quite sure this pizza would go nicely with a bottle of wine.

  • 1 store-bought pizza dough (we used 8 ounces of freshly baked dough, but the typical serving size for a mix or a frozen one would suffice!)
  • flour made from semolina
  • 1/4 cup finely diced onion
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tblsp. soured cream
  • 2 tblsp. of mayonnaise
  • cream cheese, 2 oz.
  • 1 pound spinach
  • 7 ounces drained canned artichokes
  • mozzarella cheese, 4 oz.
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F and prepare the pizza dough according to the package guidelines. Grease a pizza stone, pan, or cookie sheet with olive oil (or as directed by the manufacturer) and put aside. To avoid the dough from sticking, roll it out with semolina flour. Place the dough in a baking pan and put it aside.
  2. Combine the onion, garlic, and butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Sauté for 3 minutes, or until the onion is transparent. Stir in the sour cream, mayonnaise, and cream cheese until everything is completely combined and melted. Combine the spinach, artichokes, and 2 ounces of mozzarella in a mixing bowl. In a large mixing bowl, blend all of the ingredients until they are thoroughly incorporated.
  3. Over the prepared pizza crust, spread the spinach artichoke dip. If preferred, top with more spinach and artichokes. Mozzarella and parmesan cheeses are sprinkled on top. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is beginning to brown. Enjoy!
