This Cinnamon Bun Bundt Cake would be fantastic for a weekend brunch or a quick workday snack. I can’t get enough of the cake. It’s incredibly moist and has just the right amount of acidity for simply being a cinnamon cake. It has an odd taste.

Make this cinnamon bundt cake with these helpful hints.

Before you add the butter and eggs to the mixture, make sure they’re at room temperature, like with any of my cake recipes. This guarantees that the cake bakes evenly and makes combining all of the ingredients much simpler.

To get the right fluffy-yet-dense bundt cake texture, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. The butter should become somewhat pale in color and have a beautiful, whipped texture. It’s conceivable that your butter is too cold and isn’t whipping up readily. Turn off the mixer and let the butter remain in the bowl for 10 minutes if you’re not sure.

You’ll need to use non-fat plain Greek yogurt to give this cinnamon bundt cake that tangy, almost Snickerdoodle-like taste. Normally, I like to use full-fat yogurt to keep cakes moist. However, in this situation, the non-fat version is preferred since it is tangier and has a stronger taste. Regular yogurt, on the other hand, will not work in this recipe since it is too watery!


Aside from that, creating this bundt cake is quite simple. Because it’s a large cake, it’ll take around 50 minutes to bake. Allow it to rest in the pan for at least 20 minutes after removing it from the oven before turning it out onto a cooling rack. It’s then only a question of sprinkling the cinnamon-sugar topping and cream cheese icing on top and diving in!

To make the cake:

  • 12 tablespoons room temperature butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar (granulated)
  • a half cup of brown sugar
  • 3 big room-temperature eggs
  • 1 tbsp extract de vanille
  • 2 1/2 cups flour (all-purpose)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • a half teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt

For the cinnamon coating, follow these steps:

  • 4 teaspoons melted salted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar, granulated
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

To make the cream cheese frosting, combine the following ingredients in a mixing bowl.

  • 4 teaspoons melted butter
  • 4 ounces room temperature cream cheese
  • 2 c. sugar (powdered)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (whole)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a bundt pan and set aside. Remove from the equation.
  2. In a large mixing basin, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Combine the eggs and vanilla essence in a mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a separate basin. Fold the flour mixture and yogurt into the wet components in a slow, alternating motion until everything is mixed.
  4. Fill prepared pan halfway with batter and bake for 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Allow for 20 minutes of cooling time before removing from pan.
  5. Over a huge sheet of aluminum foil, place a cooling rack. Place cooling rack over bundt pan.
  6. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Brush the whole exterior of the heated bundt pan with butter using a pastry brush. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the cake and gently push it in.
  7. Finally, combine the cream cheese frosting ingredients. In a medium mixing basin, whisk together all of the ingredients. Microwave for 15 seconds, then stir again before pouring over the bundt cake.
