Easy 30 Minute Pizza Crust

Pizza night was always a big event in my home when I was a kid. I’d have a little meltdown on the few instances when it didn’t happen (I didn’t say I was proud, OK?). When it was pizza night, though, my sister and I would each receive our own ball of dough, stretch it out into a personal pizza (which is pretty much the nicest thing a ten-year-old can conceive of), and top it with any toppings we wanted.

We excitedly awaited our pizzas to cool just enough so they didn’t burn the roof of our mouths once they were cooked. Then we’d swap slices and compete to see who could make the finest pizza. Easy-30-Minute-Pizza-Crust

Alex and I are now the ones who are competing to see who can create the finest handmade pizza. But, at the end of the day, we’re usually both exhausted. On a weeknight, homemade pizza? It seems to be quite a lot. However, there is now a technique to prepare handmade pizza in under half an hour.

GUYS, THIS IS FOR REAL. THIRTY MINUTES TO BE EXACT.

Is this some kind of magic?! Maybe a bit, but Fleischmann’s® RapidRiseTM Yeast is responsible for the majority of the magic.

This super-fast-acting yeast needs no water hydration and just one rise, albeit a ten-minute rise. In other words, pizza may be on the table in 30 minutes or less. Having tasty, fast, and simple dishes in your back pocket after a hard day at work is a game changer. And that’s exactly what this 30-minute pizza crust is.

In 30 minutes, how do you prepare homemade pizza?

This recipe is as simple as it gets: no mixer, no special ingredients, just one bowl, and one ten-minute rise! What’s the greatest part? There’s no need to soak the yeast in warm water to get it going! Simply combine all of the dry ingredients and then add the water.

We’ll tackle it step by step to eliminate any guesswork.

Step 1: Combine 2 cups flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, and a package of Fleischmann’s® RapidRiseTM Yeast in a large mixing basin.

Step 2: In the middle of the dry ingredients, make a well and pour in 1 cup of warm water.

1636285813_964_Easy-30-Minute-Pizza-Crust Step three: Fold all of the ingredients together with your hands until a dough forms. It’s going to be a rainy day!

While this recipe doesn’t need the use of a mixer, Fleischmann’s® RapidRiseTM Yeast works well in bread machines. And, since it comes in a convenient three-packet set, you can bet we’ll be experimenting with other autumn dishes like cinnamon rolls, babkas, and hearty breads.

Step 4: Knead the dough for 5 minutes on a highly floured surface, or until the texture begins to smooth out.

As required, add extra flour. Kneading is finished when the dough is largely smooth and has a skin-like feel.

Step 5: Area the dough ball in an oiled basin, cover loosely, and let rise for ten minutes in a warm place! Pizza will be delivered in 30 minutes.

Step 6: Remove the dish towel from the bowl after 10 minutes. When poked, the dough should practically double in size and retain an impression. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough.

There’s no need for a second rise–pizza it’s time!

Step 7: Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the crust has risen and is golden brown around the edges, at 500°F.

Tips for preparing a 30-minute pizza dough at home:

    1. Use bread flour: Bread flour has more protein than all-purpose flour, resulting in more gluten, and hence a chewier, better dough.
    2. Keep all of the rise in the dough once the Fleischmann’s® RapidRiseTM Yeast has active. Simply remove the dough from the bowl, spread it out into a circle, add toppings, and bake!
    3. Bake at a high temperature: The secret to successful homemade pizza baking is to get your oven as hot as possible. To produce a high rise and crispy crust, preheat your oven to its highest setting.
    4. Don’t look: For an even rise, you’ll want to retain all of the heat inside the oven, so don’t peek until you’re sure it’s done!

Why not host a pizza night with a group of friends, your family, your spouse, or just yourself if you’re looking for a fast, enjoyable (and affordable!) dinner? And there are no reasons not to when it’s this simple. Fresh handmade pizza is much superior than any frozen or manufactured pizza available. It’s also entertaining.

Ingredients

  • 2 to 2 and a half cups bread flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar (granulated)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Fleischmann’s® RapidRiseTM Yeast, 1 packet
  • 1 cup of hot water

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups bread flour, sugar, salt, and Fleischmann’s® RapidRiseTM Yeast in a large mixing basin.
  2. In the middle of the dry ingredients, make a well and pour in the heated water. Mix everything together with your hands until it forms a dough. The dough will be sticky at first, but after you knead it, it will come together!
  3. Knead the dough for 5 minutes on a floured surface, or until the texture begins to smooth out. If the dough is too sticky to deal with, add the remaining 14 cup flour a spoonful at a time until it is dry enough to handle. Make a ball out of the dough and set it in an oiled basin. Cover loosely with a dish towel and let aside for 10 minutes to rise in a warm area.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a clean work surface after ten minutes. We like to do this on parchment paper since it’s easier to clean up and carry. Place dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet and stretch into a 12-inch circle. Sauce, cheese, and any toppings you like on top. Baked for 10 minutes at 500°F! Allow it cool completely before slicing and devouring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you let pizza dough rise for 30 minutes?

A: Yes, you can let it rise for 30 minutes. The secret to good pizza is the dough not the sauce.

Is 2 hours enough for pizza dough?

A: It depends on what youre using it for. For a pizza base, I would say that 2 hours is sufficient. If you want to make the dough into a pasta or a dumpling then it will need more time as these require longer kneading times and rolling out processes

What is the secret to a crispy pizza crust?

A: The secret to a crispy pizza crust is having your dough proof in the freezer for at least an hour before baking it. This ensures that you have no bubbles or holes within the dough, which allows heat from both sides of your oven to heat up evenly and cook fast enough so as not to burn on top without cooking through too much.
