Double Chocolate Glazed Donuts with Pistachios

The donut is a beloved staple of America. It’s easy to make, affordable and popular at any time of day or night. But the question remains: how do you eat one? Once again, I’m here to help!

homemade glazed donuts are a simple, but delicious treat. They are made with just a few ingredients and can be enjoyed any time of the day. The “homemade glazed donuts” recipe makes one dozen donuts.

Baked chocolate cake donuts with a chocolate glaze and crunchy pistachios sprinkled on top. Perfect for a family breakfast on the weekend.

So, hello there, guys! The topic of today’s article is really exciting. A New York-based magazine, Young, Hot, and Modern, contacted me about a month ago, seeking to write a piece on. Haley, an old Boston buddy, was at work in the city when an editor stopped in to drop something off. Haley began conversing with her about everything under the sun. When the subject of my blog came up, the editor stated they’d look into conducting a feature with me. The story is now live tah-day, a month later!

The article may be found here. The recipe may be found at the bottom of the page.

Isn’t that exciting? They also requested headshots, so I had several updated last week and will upload a couple amusing ones on Wednesday. The most of the time, I’m consuming (scarfing) food.

Which leads me to my next task: these pistachio-studded double chocolate glazed doughnuts. (That’s me talking to the pistachios, not you.) Ooooooh baby, you’re looking nice. I’ve never had a doughnut pan in my life, and I couldn’t stand it any longer this weekend. So I purchased one and started making these delicious chocolate circles right away.

There’s something about chocolate and pistachio that makes me think of… mmmh!

What’s the greatest part? They don’t take long at all. I’d say no more than 30 minutes. For a Saturday breakfast, that’s quite incredible. What if you took them to a friend’s house? They’d ooh and ahh, and you’d just sit there and not tell them they were the simplest things you’d ever done. Enjoy the thrill of seeming to be a baking god.

After that, eat a humble pie. Then bask once more.

To make the donuts

  • 14 cup chopped bittersweet chocolate
  • 14 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • a third of a cup of light brown sugar
  • 13 gallon milk
  • 34 cup of flour
  • a quarter cup of cocoa powder
  • 12 tbsp baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon powdered baking soda
  • a quarter teaspoon of salt

To make the glazing

  • 14 cup chopped bittersweet chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • corn syrup (two tablespoons)
  • heavy cream, 1–2 teaspoons
  • 1 teaspoon extract de vanille
  • 13 cup chopped roasted and salted pistachios

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Set aside a normal sized doughnut pan that has been greased.
  2. Melt butter and chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in brown sugar, egg, milk, and salt in a medium mixing basin. Just mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. Fill a pastry bag or a big ziplock bag with the ingredients and a hole cut in one end. Fill donut molds about a third of the way with batter. Donuts should be baked for 10 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Allow 10 minutes for cooling before icing.
  4. Make the icing while the donuts are cooling. Melt the chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Powdered sugar, heavy cream, corn syrup, and vanilla extract are whisked together until smooth and glossy.
  5. Dip one side of the doughnuts into the chocolate mixture when they have cooled. Smooth the icing over the doughnut with a spoon. Pistachios, diced, are sprinkled over top. Serve!
