This Simple Cheese Board Is Ideal For A Date Night

Here’s an idea for a two-person cheese board for a date night… or because I’m not passing judgment. However, this cheese board is an easy way to elevate your date night at home. So cuddle up with your boyfriend, girlfriend, or best friend and get a cheese-ing!

In less than 20 minutes, you can assemble this cheese board.

I’m the sort of person that appreciates going out as much as I enjoy staying home. And I like making those evenings when I stay home seem just as wonderful as if I had gone out. I like to keep things warm and inviting, but I also like to spice things up a little.

This dichotomy of homey-ness and exhilaration is embodied by homemade cheese boards. They’re elegant, and the variety of ingredients allows for countless taste combinations. Despite this, you can build a world-class cheese board in just 10 minutes with very little effort.

What’s On This Cheese Board, Anyway?

A pungent blue cheese wedge, umami-y castelvetrano olives, and prosciutto di Parma are among the stars of this Date Night Cheese Board for Two. But the handcrafted “Marcona” almonds, in my view, are the real show-stoppers.

For Your Cheese Board, Here’s How To Make Marcona Almonds

You can produce your own Almonds Marcona at home, believe it or not. It’s also shockingly simple. I began by blanching a cup of Blue Diamond Whole Natural Almonds, then peeling the skins off and roasting them for 5 minutes (it’s strangely relaxing). And there you have it.

One of my pals was so taken with the almonds that she asked if she might pay me to create a large quantity for her. So there you have it. They’re very cool.

What Can You Put On A Cheese Board Besides Cheese?

The wonderful thing about cheese boards is that they can be made to fit any occasion. If you don’t like olives, for example, you may replace them with additional cheese. Alternatively, salami. Alternatively, more crackers. The options are limitless! The following are some of my favorite items to put on cheese boards:

  • Marcona almonds
  • Olives
  • LOTS OF CHEESE (blue cheese, Brie, cheddar, manchego — for the ideal cheese board, use a combination of soft and hard cheeses)
  • Grapes
  • Apples
  • Crackers
  • Bread with a crust
  • Prosciutto
  • Salami
  • mustard with a kick

If you want to change up the cheese board ideas provided in the recipe card below but aren’t sure where to start, I suggest going to your local grocery store’s cheese department and asking for advice. I’m sure there are hundreds other cheeses you and your companion will like that you haven’t tried before!
