Bundt Cake with Apple Cider Donuts

Only a GIANT apple cider donut tastes better than an apple cider donut, which is precisely what this apple cider donut bundt cake tastes like. Apple cider doughnuts are my absolute favorite. Donuts, on the other hand, aren’t exactly the simplest treat to make on the spur of the moment. They’re time-consuming, dirty, and taste best just out of the frying. What if I told you you could have all of the delicious tastes of an apple cider doughnut in a simple bundt cake? There’s no need to get out the deep fryer or visit an apple orchard. This apple cider donut bundt cake can be made in an hour with little mess and effort. Plus, it’s butter and cinnamon sugar-coated, so what’s not to like?

This apple cider cake is far simpler to prepare than apple cider donuts, but it does need a few items that you may not already have on hand. All those wonderfully spiced treats are the nicest thing about autumn baking. However, all of the spices and seasonal components might add up to be rather costly. That’s why I adore shopping at ALDI for all of my baking necessities. For all the spices, seasonal fruits, and purees you’ll need to prepare all the wonderful sweets this autumn season at costs you’ll love, head to your local ALDI, shop on Instacart, or pick up goods curbside (my personal favorite).

  • Apple Cider from Nature’s Nectar: Instead of milk, apple cider will be used as the liquid in this cake. Nature’s Nectar Apple Cider will provide an additional apple punch to your cake. Plus, apple cider’s acidity will give your cake a little extra oomph for that fluffy texture.
  • Spices from Stonemill All Fall baked items feature a blend of comforting spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  • Baker’s Corner Brown Sugar and Simply Nature Organic Cane Sugar are used in this apple cider bundt cake recipe. Brown sugar will enhance the taste of your cake, while cane sugar will serve as a wonderful cinnamon sugar coating on the outside!
  • All-Purpose Flour: Using all-purpose flour, your bundt cake will have a delicate and soft texture that tastes precisely like an apple cider doughnut.
  • Baking Soda + Baking Powder: For the right soft, cakey doughnut texture, combine baking soda and baking powder.
  • Butter is essential for a moist and delicate cake. Softened butter will be used in the cake mix, and melted butter will be used to cover the cake’s outside with cinnamon sugar!
  • Salt: All sweet delicacies need a pinch of salt to balance out the sweetness and enhance the taste.
  • 3 eggs: Your apple cider bundt cake will have just enough structure to stand up to all that cinnamon sugar apple taste. Make sure your eggs are at room temperature before using them.
  • Apple Sauce: To fill the cake with apple flavor and make it very moist, this apple cider bundt cake recipe asks for both apple cider and apple sauce.

Apple Juice vs. Apple Cider

Anyone who claims that apple cider and apple juice are the same thing is incorrect. Apple cider, on the other hand, is significantly superior than apple juice. That’s something you can quote me on. While there are many misconceptions regarding the differences between apple cider and apple juice, it all boils down to how they’re handled. Both are manufactured from apples (obviously), but apple cider isn’t usually filtered for sediment and isn’t pasteurized. This is why you can usually purchase apple cider at a local apple picking farm or in the refrigerated department of the grocery store during the fall and winter seasons. Apple juice, on the other hand, which has been filtered and pasteurized, keeps fresh for a long time and may be found on a shelf all year.

You’ll need apple cider to make this apple cider cake! There’s no need to make an additional journey to the apple orchard or farm stand, which is fortunate for you. Fresh Nature’s Nectar Apple Cider may be found at your local ALDI this autumn.

Tips for making the ideal doughnut bundt cake

This bundt cake is quick and simple to put together, but these three tips will ensure a beautiful apple bundt cake every time.

  • Make sure your bundt cake is thoroughly greased for easy release: Nothing is more frustrating than pulling your perfectly cooked cake out of the oven only to have it cling to the pan’s edges. To get into all the nooks and crannies of our bundt pan, we used cooking spray, but you may also butter and flour the pan for an easier release!
  • Don’t overmix the batter: An overmixed batter will result in a tough, dry cake. The more you mix, the more gluten forms, potentially ruining the delicate, cakey texture. Only mix the cake until it is evenly distributed.
  • Make sure you’re using apple cider instead of apple juice: they may sound similar, but they’re not the same thing. To make your apple cider bundt cake taste as amazing as a hot apple cider donut at the apple orchard, make sure you use apple cider.

  • Baker’s Corner Brown Sugar, 2/3 cup
  • 2/3 cup organic cane sugar from Simply Nature
  • vanilla extract (two tablespoons)
  • 3 big room-temperature eggs
  • 2 3/4 cup flour (all-purpose)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered baking soda
  • baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon
  • a quarter teaspoon of salt
  • a couple of tablespoons Cinnamon from Stonemill
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (Stonemill)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder (Stonemill)
  • 1 cup apple cider (Nature’s Nectar)
  • a third of a cup of applesauce

For the sugar cinnamon coating

  • melted 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 12 cup organic cane sugar from Simply Nature
  • a couple of tablespoons Cinnamon from Stonemill
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a regular bundt pan thoroughly.
  2. In a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, combine the softened butter, Baker’s Corner Brown Sugar, and Simply Nature Organic Cane Sugar. 3 minutes on high speed, beat till light and fluffy.
  3. Scrape down the sides of the basin and add the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.
  4. Blend the applesauce and apple cider in a separate bowl and stir to combine. Remove from the equation.
  5. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and Stonemill spices in a separate basin.
  6. In three additions to the butter mixture, alternate adding the dry ingredients and the apple cider combination, starting and finishing with the dry components. It will be a thick batter. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out evenly. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes at 350°F, or until it springs back when touched and a knife inserted in the center comes out largely clean.
  7. Allow the bundt cake to cool in the pan for 20 minutes before transferring it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Combine the cane sugar, cinnamon, and salt while the cake cools. Brush the melted butter over the cooled cake and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on top. Warm up and enjoy!
