This will always be number one, and I’ll tell you why: it saves you so much time. I often wonder how people baked before KitchenAids when I had to whisk things by hand. It lasts a lifetime and is very customizable (hello, whisk, paddle, and dough attachments, and don’t get me started on all the other fancy accessories KitchenAid releases on a regular basis). The 5 quart capacity is ideal for home bakers since it is neither too large nor too tiny.

For years, I’ve used my great grandmother’s sifter, and this one is very similar. Now, I’m not a professional cookie decorator. I can create frosting flowers, but I’d only say one out of ten would be suitable for a cake.
