10 Ways to Host an Instagram Worthy Holiday Party

With the holiday season fast approaching, it is time to start planning your party! If you haven’t given much thought about what type of event will be most popular with friends and family, here are some ways for hosting a festive get-together.

The “what is instagram used for” is the most popular social media platform, with over 700 million active users. In order to host an Instagram worthy holiday party, follow these 10 tips.

Let’s face it: we photograph everything today. Everything is Instagrammable, from our gallery walls to our meals. And there are a million Insta-worthy events, parties, and get-togethers over the holidays.

Instead of being a guest, this is your year to throw a huge bash. Here are some ideas for throwing an Instagram-worthy holiday party.

1. Host a potluck.

It’s difficult enough to host a dinner party. So, to make things easier on yourself, make your Christmas gathering a potluck. It allows visitors to enjoy their favorite holiday foods while relieving you of the stress of having to shop for groceries, cook for a full day (or two), and clean up the mess.

To make the Potluck go well, I instruct everyone to bring a certain dish; for example, Friend 1 is in charge of the veggies, Friend 2 of the wine, and so on. You won’t wind up with four appetizers, three salads, and no main meal this way.

2. Make all of your own serving utensils.

To keep things Instagram-worthy when potlucking, advise them to bring their food in a to-go container, then move everything to your own serving dishes before the event. You’ll kill two birds with one stone by giving visitors a container to take leftovers home in, and your table will appear unified and photo-ready with matching serveware.

3. Create a color scheme for your project.

Setting the table is not one of my strong suits. Nobody has the time for that. Design everything around a color scheme to create an Instagram-worthy tablescape. Some of my favorites for a Christmas gathering are:

grey + charcoal + gold forest green + plum + white sage + ivory + red sage + ivory + red sage + ivory + red sage + ivory + red sage + ivory + red sage + ivory + red

Choose one color for the plates, one for the napkins, and one for the centerpiece. That’s all there is to it!

4. Prioritize comfort before formality.

The mood of your visitors will be determined by the atmosphere you create. The more formal your gathering, the stiffer your visitors will be. Instead of silk, use mismatched cups and linens to make things more comfy. This sense of coziness and warmth will be reflected in your images, making your Christmas celebration seem more private.

5. Film it using a high-end camera.

For our event, smartphone cameras will not suffice. With a high-quality camera like the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III, you can capture your Instagram-worthy dinner party like a pro. It’s small, sleek, and has all of the power of a large dSLR without the bother or the cost.

The OM-D E-M10 Mark III is ideal for anybody wishing to upgrade from their smartphone camera to a high-quality, simple-to-use camera. It also features built-in wifi, making it simple to upload images from your computer to your phone. Your buddies will be double-tapping your professional-quality Christmas party images like crazy.

6. Establish a dress code

Have a dress code for your guests to really create an Instagram-worthy Holiday Party. This way, you’ll all appear same in photos and like you just stepped out of a Christmas brochure. For my visitors, I recommended warm, comfortable sweaters for the ladies and tartan and flannel for the gentlemen.

7. Use seasonal greenery to create a centerpiece.

The main point of your table should be in the middle of the table. I adore utilizing leaves as centerpieces to add to the homey, intimate atmosphere we’re creating. Greens, in particular, make excellent centerpieces. From my local farmer’s market, I purchased one bunch of gold-painted eucalyptus and one bunch of seeded eucalyptus. I then stretched them over the length of my table, accenting them with little jam jars of white chrysanthemums to contrast with my white dishes.

8. Create a massive cheeseboard

A genuinely gigantic cheeseboard is the epitome of a party. The 4 by 3 rule is my go-to method for making a killer cheeseboard: choose three meats, three cheeses, three starches, and three accompaniments. Prosciutto, soppressata, and pepperoni, cheddar, goat, and brie, flax crackers, 9 grain crackers, and baguette, as well as pomegranates, olives, and pears were used on this board.

9. Take note of the lighting.

The worst thing that can happen to an Instagram-worthy situation is terrible lighting. As a result, set the scene. Use a minimum of 10 candles, decrease the overhead lighting, and, if feasible, place your table closer to a window.

10. Make a killer playlist

Okay, so the music may not show up in your images, but the emotion will. Make a music that will make your visitors feel relaxed and comfortable. Anderson is one of my favorite musicians for Christmas gatherings. Raphael Saadiq, Anderson.Paak, Miguel, Drake, John Mayer, and Raphael Saadiq
